Urban Life Edible gardens & Landscaping is founded and influenced by the need of more sustainable and self-sufficient cities. Especially Cape Town can benefit from improving on food security.

Growing up in a smaller village in the Netherlands, surrounded by farmland and even family members who where farmers it started at a young age.

Gaining work experience as a chef also contributed to my passion of fresh produce and delicious food. There is no better way than growing your own vegetables transform those into a fresh, healthy, tasty meal.

While finishing my degree in real estate I came across urban farming. This seemed to be a versatile trend which has multiple benefits to a city. It combines economic, social, ecological, environmental and city development improvements.

The best local benefits are:

Food security, job creation, sustainability, reducing storm water runoff and reducing the “heat island effect” (more greenery in the city to lower the average temperature).

We believe it can be implemented at your house, flat, business, community and on top of your property.
