Urban Farming
This is vegetable production in an urban environment. Think about community parks, community projects, rooftop farms, restaurants, hotels and more. Growing fruit and vegetables in the urban areas will reduce the need of food milage and packing. In addition it will create a functional area where people from the area can meet, spend time outdoors and be actively involved.
Food Forests
This is based on the principles of the forest with the specific layers. A food forest is a long term way to build a self containing vegetable and fruit production. While it takes work in the start, when established fruit and vegetables will be grown by itself, while it is mimicking the characteristics of a forest.
Regerative Farming
Focusing on the larger scale and conventional farmers. Using a regenerative farming method means that the farms are moving away from artificial fertilizers and pesticides. By working with the soil and not farming a monoculture, it builds a better environment and more resilient farms.
Agro Forestry
This is a sustainable way of combining forest growth with fruit trees and vegetable production. It is a farming method in wich trees and fruit trees are combined to stimulate growth and use the trimmings as mulch. The organic matter from the trees is used as food for the vegetables and fruit growing in between the trees. The combination of trees and vegetables make an underground network that self regulates nutrients, water and protection of pests.
